9:00 AM: Arrival on property and setup

12:00 PM: Vendors arrive and décor comes together

3:30 PM: Guests arrive and gather

4:00 PM: Outdoor ceremony

5:00 PM: Cocktails, photos, & time around the grounds

6:30 PM: Dinner under the tent followed by toasts

7:30 PM: Dancing and evening celebration

9:30 PM: Late-night snacks or fireside gathering

10:00 PM: Amplified music comes to an end.

11:00 PM: Event concludes, guests say their goodbyes.

12:00 PM: Cleanup complete and property cleared

A Few Things You Might Be Wondering

  • We can host celebrations of up to 150 guests, with options ranging from intimate elopements and micro weddings to full-size celebrations and wedding weekends.

  • Your day begins at 9 AM, with celebrations winding down by 11 PM. Amplified music ends at 10 PM, and all cleanup and departure must be completed by midnight.

  • 9 Mile Schoolhouse is tucked into Montana’s beautiful Nine Mile Valley in Huson, just outside Missoula. We’re 18 miles from Missoula Montana Airport, close enough for an easy trip in while still feeling wonderfully tucked away in the mountains.

  • Very. We love pets! If your celebration wouldn't feel complete without your four-legged fren, bring them along. From walking down the aisle to hanging around the Schoolhouse for the weekend, they're welcome to be part of the story.

  • Tables and chairs for your first 50 guests are included. If you're planning a larger celebration, additional tables and chairs will need to be arranged through an outside rental company.

  • Yes, you have full flexibility to bring your own vendors. If you’d like recommendations, we have a trusted list of local preferred vendors we love working with.

  • Yes! You’re welcome to bring your own alcohol, giving you the freedom to serve what you and your guests actually enjoy. Any required serving, licensing, or insurance requirements will need to be followed.

  • Yes! Smaller celebrations can take advantage of street-side parking, while larger events require shuttle transportation. Ask us about shuttle service and hay rides!

  • Yes! Restrooms in our lodging accommodations are available for guests to use. For celebrations with more than 50 guests, we require an additional portable restroom to keep everyone comfortable and the festivities flowing smoothly.

  • Yes. We require event insurance for weddings and private celebrations at 9 Mile Schoolhouse. It’s typically simple and affordable to obtain, and we’ll provide the coverage requirements you’ll need when it’s time to purchase your policy

  • A little Montana weather won’t stop the celebration! We have event tents available to rent, or you can bring your own. Our Carriage Houses also offer indoor space as a backup.

Make It a Weekend

Some couples start with a day-use wedding and keep things simple, and that works beautifully here.

Others choose to reserve the full property for the weekend and invite their closest people to stay on-site.

We set aside a limited number of accommodations including cabins, rooms in the Teacherage, and a few simple camping spots. You can offer these to your guests through a shared invitation, and any bookings go toward reducing your overall cost.

It keeps everything centralized, ensures the experience feels shared, and gives everyone time to settle in and be part of the weekend.

It’s a slower, more connected way to celebrate, and often ends up being people’s favorite part.
