Our Story

Built in the early 1900s, the 9 Mile Schoolhouse has always been a place for gathering. Once a lively one-room school and home to its teachers, it still carries the warmth, simplicity, and small-town magic of those early days.

Today, it’s been lovingly restored and reopened as a place for events and weddings, family celebrations, cozy cottage stays, and community events. From stargazing nights and bonfires to holiday traditions and heartwarming meals, the Schoolhouse invites you to slow down and enjoy life’s sweetest moments.

About Jessie

Jessie is the heart behind the 9 Mile Schoolhouse — a dreamer, creator, photographer, and community-builder who now calls this historic place home. She lives inside the Schoolhouse with her children and their dogs, filling the old halls with warmth, laughter, and everyday magic.

A Montana girl through and through, Jessie grew up in nearby Alberton. As a young girl, she would visit the Schoolhouse during the holiday markets, wandering the decorated rooms, listening to music, and soaking in the wonder of it all. It was here that she first fell in love with this place, long before she ever imagined she would someday live here herself.

Today, Jessie pours that same sense of wonder into every gathering and celebration she hosts. She has a deep passion for serving children with special needs, and is committed to creating events and spaces that are welcoming, inclusive, and full of heart.

For Jessie, the Schoolhouse isn’t just a property — it’s a living piece of Montana history and a place where community, kindness, and creativity are always at the center. She is living a Schoolhouse storybook life, and loves to share it with others.
